Chris Capehart | Global Keynote Speaker, Author & Entrepreneur

5x Author. 10x Entrepreneur. Chris defied the odds, surviving the loss of his parents to suicide and cancer. He brings a practical message of hope, perseverance, and personal development to inspire and train individuals and organizations to do the same. “My dad was a pastor and cheated on my mom. She committed suicide. He died of cancer. I defied the odds, and so can you.” Chris’ story is proof that though life rarely gives us what we hope for, we can still beat the odds and achieve a meaningful life. Every challenge presents a choice; a choice to either let circumstances define us or to do exactly the opposite. Chris has made it a point to do exactly the opposite by defining his own life and taking purposeful steps to overcome every challenge thrown his way. His fresh approach to overcoming the inevitable challenges life brings will inspire and motivate people from all walks of life to connect with their purpose and move beyond the challenges they face. His experience of defying the odds stretches beyond overcoming personal challenges and into the business realm. Growing up, Chris worked in the family “startup” business. That startup went on to gross over 200 million dollars. In the years since, Chris has started or had ownership in over 10 businesses, experiencing a wide range of ups and downs; from losing everything to building it all back from scratch. While serving as CMO at Oven Bits, he drove over 100% growth adding millions in revenue and helping to produce 20+ features in the Apple and Google App Stores. This was done in partnership with brands such as L’Oréal, Lush Cosmetics, Hilton, and Vogue. During this time, Chris published his first book: Step - Pursuing Your Dreams in the Midst of Everyday Life. Chris has since produced Life Story - A step-by-step guide to creating the life you’ve always wanted, The “Blank” Leader - An in-depth guide to becoming a thriving leader, and The Intentional Year - A year dedicated to making you unstoppable. Through the exhilarating heights of hard-earned success to the lows of disappointing failures, Chris has learned a handful of key principles that have helped him defeat the odds. He’s now on a mission to teach people of all walks of life how they can do the same and defeat the odds, no matter what their “everyday life” looks like. Speech Topics: • “Is that Possible?” based on the book Step In this perspective shifting motivational talk, Chris breaks down the popular concept from his recent book, Step, called the “Proverbial Mile.” He describes how the mile stands between: A person and their dreams. A business and its objectives. An organization and its mission. Chris shatters the illusion of the unattainable mile through practical advice on how to look at the mile in a different way. Audiences walk away from this talk ready to take immediate action in their lives, businesses, and organizations. • “When Blank Happens” based on the book Step. This controversial title makes for an emotional experience with audiences of all types as Chris gets personal about the “blank” that happens in our lives. Through his personal experience (losing a mother to suicide, father to cancer, and failing in several businesses) he examines how we can deal with the “blanks” of our lives whether it be personal or professional. This is a must hear talk as Chris identifies the three keys to getting through “blank.” Audiences are moved by Chris' vulnerability, and walk away truly connected with the daily challenges they face and a fresh take on how to approach them. • "Is Anyone Listening” Drawing from his experience as an expert in developing some of the world's leading mobile applications, not to mention being a millennial, Chris pokes fun at the old way of doing things. He backs that fun with tips and tools on how to survive in a 15 second, 140 character, small screen world. A few excerpts from this talk include: “A blast message to all of your friends on Facebook is a bad idea!” “If your message takes longer than the time someone is stopped at a traffic light it will get lost.” “I don’t care about your selfie, I care about mine.” Audiences will laugh along as they identify with the “tactics” we’ve all used or had used on us that didn’t work. Chris leaves the audience with practical tips for engaging in a “mobile” world. • The “Blank” Leader The question is not, “Are you’re a leader?”. It’s, “What type of a leader are you?”. Chris explains in this workshop that no matter one’s title or position, we are always leading. Drawing from his own leadership experience and vast research on the topic, Chris sheds light into what he calls a “Thriving” Leader”. He breaks down the idea that every action a leader takes receives a grade, but for leaders this grade comes in the form of adjectives that sit in front of the word leader when people describe them. The average of these words determines where a leader falls on what he has coined the Leadership Spectrum. During this talk the audience will have the opportunity to evaluate where they sit on the Leadership Spectrum. Chris also shares concepts that will directly impact each person’s quality of leadership and their overall “leadership grade”. This is a fun, challenging, and practical experience for leaders of any position. No matter what background each individual brings, they will leave with practical steps to become a more dynamic, strategic, and effective leader. Chris nailed it!

Chris nailed it! He spoke at 4 events we hosted for young professionals. He was engaging and energetic, bringing practical advice our people could take action on immediately...and they did! I've heard multiple stories of people who, after hearing Chris, achieved dreams they'd been sitting on for years.

Chris is a fresh voice ...

I had Chris speak to a group of our leaders and the feedback was phenomenal. Several of them commented on how Chris’ message changed the way the were going to approach life. It was just what my team needed and we can’t wait to have him back. In fact, I’ve booked him three more times already. Chris is a fresh voice to passionate hearts who may find themselves stuck not sure how to move towards the dream in their hearts. He is the sherpa to their Everest, guiding along the way with humor filled stories and practical application. Here’s to Step and the thousands of future victories waiting to be celebrated!
